Banner Ads Lead to More Clicks, and Open Doors

Here’s a good place to start, for those of you in the wholesale industry!

How many doors does your house have? Well, there’s the front and back door, as well as the garage door, and maybe even another door leading to the sun room, or the greenhouse… but that’s about it for most of us. Since there are only a few doors on every average house, just imagine if you started using all of the windows as doors to get in and out with, too. Suddenly, you’ve got over a dozen ways to get where you’re going, where you were limited to maybe five access points before. I’m going to explain why a good banner ad is like adding a door to your site, and how this results in better traffic to your page too.

Eye-catching banner ads have been around almost as long as the Internet offered a GUI on people’s desktops. With a good one, you can not only get people to click over to your site, but you can also leave an impression on the ones who didn’t even enter, by giving bits of info or a funny or poignant message that remains with the user, long after walking away from the computer.

A lot of today’s banner ads are fairly sophisticated stuff, with animated graphics and rollover effects being rather normal. However, even a static graphic can still do the job, if you apply a good sense of design and usage of space to your concept. With all the “noise” on the Internet these days, sometimes this is the best way to go. Simple – and minimal – is often going to say a lot more than over-the-top action.

Manufacturers need good banners too… and there are some great places to put them!

Here are some points to consider, when investigating your own banner ad options:

Although most banners aren’t for free, it’s important to remember that you are actually going to save some money in the long run, by applying a well-placed banner ad on a page that is focused and directed to the market segment you’re trying to reach out to. Spend a little more on getting a banner right at the top of a page that communicates directly to your desired customers, and you’re more likely to see real results in a shorter time.

You can also create different banners for different campaigns. It’s not hard to simply create a banner that is more appealing to one market, and another banner that is slightly different from the first, which will appeal to a different group. this way, instead of just trying to find a one size fits all solution to your advertising, the banners will be more focused and relevant to the viewers, which will lead to more activity.

Nothing to it! A good banner ad will increase exposure to the people you want to talk to.

Putting your company’s name and logo in front of more eyes will only serve to spread the word about your product or services, and it’s easily done with an effective banner. By allocating a portion of your marketing budget for simple and cheap banner ads, you can put them up in other areas that may not give you the most extreme rates of traffic or clicks, but will get you noticed by somebody nonetheless.

Finally, be sure to keep an eye on what happens to those ads once they are up there. Analytics tools are available to users who want to not only know how many times a visitor has clicked on your banner, but also what they did after they clicked it. This can be useful information, because it at least tells you what’s working on your company’s site, as well as what works in the world of effective and eye-catching banner ads.
