Closeouts Direct: Your Key Resource Guide, Part 01

Closeouts Direct. You want them, but maybe you’re not sure where to find them. It’s been a while since I got down to the finer points of starting a process to find the best in the business, so today we’re going to take a more focused look at this topic. We’re also going to check out a few suppliers that will be happy to make your life much easier… and we’ll even take a moment to see some actual products that are making money for others in the closeout business right now!

First of all, let’s assume there are some first-time readers here who don’t really know too much about closeouts. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect to find at the root of this category, if you want to start looking into getting your hands on these goods:

Closeouts are, for the most part, not an exact science. Discounted goods, liquidated items, overstocks, and customer returns could all fall into the category of closeouts, and that’s not all  you might find if you start digging deep enough. While this may seem a little confusing at first, it’s really not that complicated. The best part is that it’s also a great way to make huge profits on items and goods that are discounted to nearly unbelievable prices, because they can be turned around for much greater margins after they’ve been redistributed and targeted to a market that will truly appreciate them. In short, closeouts are very good for your customers, and even better for you!

After browsing these sites, you may start to get the feeling that closeouts are big business, and you would be right to think so. There are thousands upon thousands of suppliers and retail outlets that have large inventories of goods that don’t move as quickly as they had hoped, and it’s up to you to pull those items into your own stable of product offerings. Some of the categories that jump off the top of my head are amongst the most popular and in demand, which is a great starting point for you to begin your own hunt for closeouts, and sellers who have the ones you:

  • General Merchandise
  • Consumer Products
  • Fashion Apparel
  • Cosmetics and Perfume
  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Electronics
  • Food and Beverage
  • Seasonal
  • Government
  • Medical Device
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Retail

Now that you know what  they are, and where to get them, you can start thinking about forming a strategy that allows you to bring some of these discounted goods to your customers. Keep your eyes open for the second half of this story, as your industry insider sources at TopTenWholesale.com provide more ways to build a business that gets you ahead of the rest!
