Great Attendance at the ASD Show!


2010 is a big year for the exhibitors and attendees at the ASD Show in the Sands Expo Center and Las Vegas Convention Center, as everything could be found in over 100 categories to supply merchandise for buyers that range from independent retailers, department stores, national chains, and internet retailers who need the best deals in the business. This year’s ASD Show in Las Vegas has shown a significant increase in attendance, with over 2,400 exhibitors displaying a vast array of products from the Gift, Jewelry, Style & Beauty, and Value & Variety categories that were major features of the show. With over 610,000 square feet of exhibit space putting goods in front of people in the wholesale and retail industry, there was plenty of room to mingle for independent retailers, department stores, national chains and internet retailers amongst the 45,000 attendees that filled the hall.

From February 28 – March 03, the ASD Las Vegas Show kept everyone’s mind on making deals with a high-energy atmosphere that led to a lot of new faces getting to know some of the reputable dealers who have been in the industry for a while, and a good number of orders being written as well.

The theme this year was “Evolution of ASD,” and the numbers provided some additional dealer confidence with regard to the evolution of the entire industry, as reports came in showing that attendance went up by 15% over last year. Buyers from Latin American countries made up a sizable percentage, with representatives from  Mexico, Argentina, and Costa Rica making their appearance, as part of an international mix of 80 countries.

Retailers found this year’s show to be a very positive indicator of the seasons to come, as the increase in traffic and attendance pointed towards a future of growth in the industry. Many retailers claimed that this was their best show ever, and the effect it seemed to have on participants leads many to believe that the next show will be a terrific investment. Members are found to have a renewed sense of direction after being exposed to the wealth of information, great resources, and connections at the conference.

Buyers and sellers are brought together in an environment that makes the act of information-sharing as natural and efficient as possible, with an emphasis on creating partnerships and relationships that will lead to steady growth for e-tailers and retailers alike.
