Management Anticipating a Strong August Off-Price Specialist Show
Off-Price Specialist Show management is anticipating a strong August Show in the wake of the record-setting February Show where attendance was up approximately 15%. The first two days of the February show drew the largest number of buyers ever for an Off-Price Specialist Show.
“We’re anticipating a strong August Show,” says Bill Jage, CEO of the Off-Price Specialist Center. “Regardless of what happens in the market, our Las Vegas events always seem to shine. In fact, our buyer attendance has steadily increased every show since we opened our doors in 1995. In good times and bad times, everyone is looking for deals, and our exhibitors offer the sharpest price points in the industry. Our ad campaigns in various publications and in Spanish-American media outlets are bringing in new non-traditional buyers, and our joint marketing campaign with eBay is attracting the new wave of Internet sellers. Last February’s attendance figures, as well as pre-registrations for the August show, indicate that the big retailers are sending larger buyer delegations to the show. With the co-location of our Home & Gift Show with the Apparel Show in August, our retail customers will have the convenience and cost-savings of one-stop shopping.”
The August event opens on Friday, August 25 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas and runs through Tuesday, August 29. Two cyber cafes, sponsored by eBay and Top Ten Wholesale respectively, will be available on the show floor for buyers and exhibitors. Educational conferences on various off-price shopping and retail topics will be offered on Sunday and Monday, and shuttle bus and limousine transportation between the Sands and the Las Vegas Convention Center and to various hotels along the Strip will be available for attendees.
