Finding Opportunities for Profits Underneath the Surface

There are a great deal of opportunities in the world of wholesale that may not be immediately apparent. However, some of these chances to make money could be completely unmistakable once spotted, with an emphasis on having the right attitude. Sometimes, the only thing that matters is finding the possibilities within a market that sees growth in almost every major city these days, and a rising trend that is forcing current recessionary fear-mongers do a double-take. With few other areas of industry showing such promise, it may be time to take a look at another business that finds profits lying just underneath the skin’s surface.

Tattoo shops have been around for some time, and they have suffered stigmas that associated the practice of getting some skin art with outlaws, hoodlums, and miscreants in both the media, and Hollywood movies. However, the tide is turning quickly, and the art of getting tattoos is becoming more commonplace every day.

It also represents a tremendous area of growth for wholesalers who are sourcing tattoo machines and supplies from manufacturers who have the goods they need.

According to a Pew Research Center study that says more than a third of Americans ages 18 to 25 have a tattoo, it also points out that 40% of folks in the 26 to 40 range have some form of tattoos, and even the middle aged to senior aged category is surprising, with 10% of people age 41 to 64 are tattooed.

While the process of choosing to get a tattoo remains a highly personal one for most people, there are undeniable facts surrounding the industry. Hygiene and sterilization procedures have taken a turn for being far more professional and standardized in facilities that undergo government health inspections. That means the machines and autoclaves used for these sterilization procedures have become valuable to shops that want to not only offer sanitary tools of the trade to their artists, but also present an image of health awareness and safety to their clientele.

Manufacturers in all parts of the globe are responding to the growth trend, and the quality of machines and accessories is also becoming less of a guess, with more sourcing companies and distributors taking added measures to verify and check the quality of their suppliers. Listings for tattoo equipment can be readily found on the pages of leading vertical search sites, and options for buyers are becoming even greater as demand increases.

Studies over the past century have shown that in a down economy, there are always certain things that remain afloat. Entertainment and certain luxury goods have weathered the test of time, and continue to do so. This is made more apparent when the official figure for number of tattoo shops is somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000 across the USA, and the industry generates revenue of approximately $2.3 billion per year.

“Upscale clients are emerging with a desire to get tattoos, and the artists who have the best-looking equipment and nicest shops are going to get their vote of confidence.” says Yam ‘Burner’ Lee, owner of Waikiki Tattoo in Hawaii. “Finding the best manufacturers and suppliers is becoming really important to maintaining that image with clients who are seeing a lot more choice out there.”
