Tooks – Hottest Beanies for the Coolest Conditions


Tooks are cool new beanies and headbands featuring built-in removable headphones. Tooks were born in the spirit of winter sports but can be used for just about any activity where people listen to music, such as biking, hiking, jogging, skiing, or working out. Tooks also make great promotional items for businesses and are very popular as personal gifts (consider your Christmas shopping done!).

Tooks International was founded in Denver Colorado in 2005 and hit the market with the now popular Tooks Classic, a 100% bulk acrylic beanie offered in six colors (black, gray, navy blue, brown, red, and pink). Customer feedback resulted in the development of the Tooks Headband, introduced earlier this year. Tooks feature compact size removable headphones which have been engineered for superior sound quality in a slim package design. The fact that they’re removable allows the headwear to be washed. The headphones are inserted into the inner layers of fabric (so they are hidden) and can be adjusted directly over a person’s ears. A small piece of Velcro keeps them in place once positioned. Unlike the earplug styles which block the ear completely, the Tooks headphones allow some ambient sound to still be heard, for instance while skiing or at a football game.

Due to the mass appeal of the product line, Tooks Intl sells to a variety of resellers and distributors across different market segments. Wholesale prices start at $12.50 with a minimum order of 25 pieces (1 case). Vendors can mix colors within a case and first-time vendors can also test drive a smaller quantity in their stores. We do this because want our vendors to be happy and confident with our product instead of feeling like they were “sold” something.

The Tooks line comes standard with a logo on the back, with a custom embroidery option for the front. These custom versions are great as promotional items for organizations, schools, or other businesses like radio stations, bands, or sports affiliates. The minimum quantity for custom orders is 50 pieces with an embroidery charge of $2-3 per item.

A lot of people ask about the name Tooks (pronounced like “two”, not “tuh”). The name is derived from the French-Canadian word for a beanie hat which is “tuque” or “touque” (a good friend of the founder is from Montreal). We thought the word was catchy but needed to have more of a Google & Yahoo-ish feel in appearance, so Tooks was born.
