If it’s August, we must be in Las Vegas for the Really Big Shows

Las Vegas is more than gaming. It’s an epicenter of Fashion, Clothing, Apparel and Specialty Trade Shows. Especially in August.Here’s a quick rundown on upcoming wholesale trade shows. TopTenWholesale (and its affiliates WholesaleU, Off-PriceNetwork, Wholezilla) is an exhibitor or media partner or trade partner in all these shows.

1.  ASD/AMD INTERNATIONAL MERCHANDISE SHOW :: August 10–13

This wholesale merchandise marketplace features more than 3,500 companies who exhibit products in over 150 merchandise categories. Six show segments include Variety Merchandise, Gift Show, Jewelry and Military Tactical Outdoor Show. A returning show segment, Source Direct, offers wholesalers and distributors with direct-from-manufacturer product sourcing opportunities in decorative accessories, fashion and costume jewelry, and novelties. New in 2008 is the China Brand Show segment, which offers face-to-face access between wholesalers and China’s name brand manufacturers of electronics, textiles and clothing.

As a Media Partner of ASD/AMD, JP Communications and Top Ten Wholesale will present a seminar to attendees on Insider Search Marketing Tips & Tactics Using Industry and Trade Verticals. This seminar also features a free search optimization clinic for participants’ web sites.

2.  OFF-PRICE SPECIALIST SHOW :: August 23—26

This is the largest — and only — off-price show in the apparel industry, featuring over 1000 exhibitors and 450 vendors of quality off-price apparel, in price points ranging from low-end to top designer products. This year’s Off-Price Specialist Show features the Army-Navy Military Expo as a show-within-a-show, connecting military and outdoor merchandise buyers with a wider marketplace of apparel and Army-Navy surplus vendors. Attracting 100 more exhibitors and 900 new buyers in the Army-Navy, surplus-outdoor specialty (plus including this niche show to run with Off-Price Specialist Show) opens wider market opportunities to buyers and sellers … and does it with more efficient use of attendees’ time.

Top Ten Wholesale, as a trade partner of Off-Price Specialists, connects off-price buyers and sellers through B2B search marketing, directory listings and wholesale industry ad networks.

During this year’s show, the Off-Price Specialist Association will honor Peter J. Hayes, COO and Merchandising Officer of Variety Wholesalers, as Off-Price Industry’s Man of the Year. Before Variety Wholesalers (a value-priced retail chain of 450 discount stores in 18 mainly Southeastern states), Hayes was CEO of a Federated Department Store division, COO of Family Dollars Stores, and president of a large off-price retailer, after residing in mainland China for five years.

3.  ASAP GLOBAL SOURCING SHOW :: August 24—27

ASAP Show

The longest-running sourcing show in North America, and a one-stop marketplace, ASAP showcases overseas apparel manufacturers (production sourcing and contract garment manufacturers) and offers match-up opportunities between U.S. and international apparel buyers … all under one Las Vegas roof. ASAP Global features hundreds of manufacturers of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, as well as textiles and leather, as the authority in global apparel sourcing. In addition to the trade show, ASAP offers trade missions, selling opportunities in China and India, and expertise in wholesale/retail buying, financing and quality assurance.
