Via Trading Launches New Tool for Buyers

Last week, wholesale liquidator Via Trading launched its latest addition to the Resource Center − Wholesale Buyer Tools. Via Trading offers its buyer community all kinds of information and resources on closeouts, including how-to guides and many other tools in an effort to educate its customers on the risks and rewards of working with liquidation merchandise. Through the use of these resources, buyers can make more informed purchase decisions to protect their bottom line.

The company’s new Buyer Tool section features seven different widgets specifically developed by Via Trading for the wholesale liquidation industry. The Buyer Tools include calculators for determining the following information and more:

• The potential revenues and profits of a load
• The potential revenues of a customer return load based on the condition of products inside
• How the shipping cost is distributed over several different lots within one order
• How much money buyers can save by combining multiple lots for shipping

The buyer tools also include a currency converter to make purchasing easier for international buyers by converting to their local currency right on the page. For local buyers, the tools include a zip code checker to determine whether a buyer qualifies for the Via Trading “SoCal Shipping Special,” a unique discounted shipping rate to customers within 150 miles of Via Trading’s Los Angeles warehouse.

Given that the liquidation industry deals with products that are often in less-than-perfect condition, the benefit of having tools like these on hand to help guesstimate your potential profits can be substantial.

“Too many people go into this business without doing their research or considering how much money they could realistically make on a load if, let’s say, 40 percent of it is not in working condition,” says Via Trading Marketing Manager Nathania Stambouli.

“They can still make a good profit, but it’s a good idea to run the numbers through one of our calculators before making a purchase to cover all possible scenarios ahead of time and avoid any surprises,” she said. “It’s also useful to run the numbers after the purchase, when you’re sitting there with your truckload of goods spread out in front of you, to help get to a sales number you’re comfortable with before you start labeling and pricing every item,” she added.
