Running from April 8th through April 16th, Shanghai Fashion Week is held twice a year. Shanghai wishes to attract top talent from around the world to build an international platform. This show is part of a month-long International Fashion Culture Festival and is held in Shanghai, China.
Belarus Fashion Week
Taking place from April 10th through April 14th, this show is new, starting in only 2010. It features local brands as well as international ones. This show’s goal is to promote the Republic of Belarus and attract interest in its fashion potential. Belarus Fashion Week is held in Minsk, Belarus.
Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715-2015
Runs from April 10th to May 10th. This show focuses on menswear, starting in the 18th century and moving to the present, while exploring men’s role in fashion, which has a predominately feminine association. This show takes place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles.
Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear
Running from April 16th to April 21st, this show focuses on the role of underwear in history. Not only showcasing different designs through history, it will also focus on the people who rebelled against corsets and bras as well as the ones who changed the standards throughout the years. This show takes place in London.
International Textile Fair
Taking place from April 16th through April 17th, this is the third year for the International Textile Fair. More than 20 countries are participating in this trade-only event, showcasing textiles to manufacturers. This show is at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in United Arab Emirates.
Take | Festival For Independent Fashion And Arts
Running from April 19th through April 23rd, this is a new show featuring contemporary fashion. This show will not only feature collections and runways but also lectures and screenings. Take | Festival For Independent Fashion And Arts will be held at the Alte Post Festival Centre in Vienna.
Fashioning A Reign: 90 Years of Style From The Queen’s Wardrobe
Runs from April 21st to May 21st. This show is focusing on the Queen’s style across her life and reign for her 90th birthday, with the largest display of her clothing ever shown. It will feature pieces from her wardrobe from significant events in her life. The show will be at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh before moving to Buckingham Palace and then Windsor Castle.
